For over two decades, Darren Hanna has been on the front lines helping young people break through barriers, smash limiting beliefs, and unlock their full potential. What officially launched as Dhann Mentorship and Solutions, LLC in December 2022 actually began on local youth sports fields back in 2009. Working as a sports official, Darren realized his true calling went far beyond the game—he was checking on grades, mentoring character, and building real trust with the youth.
That dedication turned him into a go-to sounding board for young people looking to share their dreams and fears. To take his impact to the highest level, Darren earned his professional credentials as a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP) through the prestigious Institute for Excellence in Coaching (iPEC).
Today, as a premier coach, mentor, and motivator, he is dedicated to inspiring our communities to reach, teach, and succeed. We sat down with the founder of Dhann Mentorship to drop some essential knowledge on youth mindset, local education, and what it truly takes to win.
Questions
As a mentor to the youth, what do you think is the number one challenge they face in our community that keeps them reaching their potential.
Darren Hanna- I would say structure, the lack of a solid family foundation, led by father and mother, who have put in place a safe haven where the child has the essential necessities to flourish. Potential remains potential until it’s planted in the right environment, cultivated and nurtured
Education is essential in the Pee Dee area and as a mentor I wanted to know how we can encourage the youth to be more passionate about their learning?
Darren Hanna- Ask “if you had the ability to become, achieve, possess, and accomplish anything in life, using your wildest imagination without limitations, what would it be “
Then, share your story how you align education with your gifts to be successful
Encourage them to seek their gifts, abilities and talents… once they develop a sense of self, and their true desire, Education will be the engine that brings everything to fruition
As a coach, mentor and motivator, what is the one quote, or advice you used to encourage the youth in our community to aspire for success.
Darren Hanna- I tell them “Do not seek to be successful “
-success is inherently built into all of us. But seek to become valuable, riches, wealth and all desirable things are attracted to value!
